Congratulations to our International Favorite Finds winner Nigel C. from Europe!
Nigel went metal detecting on a wet and cloudy morning with his friend using the AT Max. They went to a familiar area where they have found buttons, bronze grots, silver Denarius coins, and old roman coins over the years. On this day, it was going to be difficult because the weather was bad and the stubble was high which made it hard to detect. In the first three hours, he found a Victoria penny from 1863 and a large button. He continued to scan across the field when he got a screaming signal. He lifted the loamy soil and popped out something gold. He discovered a Constantius II gold roman coin! This was his first ever gold coin after beginning metal detecting 37 years ago. He writes, " I am happy, a bit wet, but this was worth it. I can go home and be grateful that Garrett helped me with my discovery. I love anything Roman."

After 6 years of doing this hobby, Miron finally got an incredible find! He went detecting with his son-in-law in a plowed field using his Garrett 400i. He started walking about 10 ft from the car and got a clear signal of 78. He dug it up and was excited to find his first gold coin. He found a Byzantine Empire gold coin from 565-578 AD. The Roman ruler at the time was Justin II. Miron writes, "I love my detector and I can’t wait to go out again in the wonderful clearing, maybe there are other beautiful coins."

Paul recently got the itch to get back into metal detecting and pulled out his trusty ACE 250 for his first dig in 10 years. He found a few old copper coins on his first dig, but more was to come for him. The next week, he went on club dig and got to see his friends. He was excited to go because they went to some new permissions that could turn up some good history. Paul says, “I spotted a patch of the field that just called to me, and I made a beeline for it. The air was still, just the quiet hum of my Garrett swinging back and forth. Then, out of nowhere, I hit a tone that stopped me. It was the sweetest sound a detectorist could hope for. My heart raced as I started digging. I carefully turned over a clod of earth, and there it was—at first, it looked like a brass button, but there was something special about it. My hands trembled as I turned it over, revealing a horse engraved on the front.” He discovered a gold stater from 50 B.C.! He could not stop shaking in excitement that he found this on his first time back detecting. Great find!

Rio was detecting with his dad’s metal detecting group and found this amazing relic. He was using the AT Max and got a 88 signal that was very deep. He found a Bronze Age axe 18 inches down in the ground! Rio’s dad says, “The flat Bronze Age axe head was so big, and watching Rio's reaction was something I will never forget. I love metal detecting with my son.”

“The Garrett 350 never ceases to surprise me and always gives me my best finds,” says Ezequiel. He went out with his detecting group at a 1865 military campsite that was used during the great war of the Triple Alliance that involved the 4 South American countries. He has found several relics but nothing like this. He found an antique bracelet with a face on it. He writes, “ I did not expect to find this but it could have been one of the soldiers in battle that wore this. Thank you, Garrett.”

Anthony was detecting in a harvested pea field on a cloudy day with his ACE 250 looking for something good. It was rainy and the ground was soft, but this did not discourage him. After an hour, he only found cartridge cases, bag pellets, warheads, and other items. Then he moved to a different part of the field and on his first swing got a great signal. He dug up a 1915 Sweetheart Canadian brooch from the 46th Infantry Battalion!
