The ACE 200 operates as a lower-frequency metal detector. It transmits a magnetic field into the ground from the search coil, and when it encounters a metal object, it creates a secondary field in the object. The detector then processes the signal from the metal detection field and allows the user to identify the type of metal detected and its approximate depth.
