He found this 1897 Tennessee Centennial token while hunting on family property near Fredericksburg, Virginia. “I got a nice, strong signal in the woods on the property and was surprised to dig what looked like a large coin,” he said.
Designed by the United States mint in 1897, these gold-plated brass commemorative souvenir medals were struck in the U.S. Mint’s exhibit booth in Nashville during the international exposition. “I have found many other neat relics with my Apex since purchasing it, and I’m very pleased with it,” Timothy added. “Great machine!”
