Congratulations to our US Favorite Finds winner Jon H. from Virginia!
Jon took advantage of going water hunting because where he lives in Virginia, they were experiencing record drought this summer. He took his AT Pro with him to the deepest swimming holes at his local creek. This year, he has found 3 muskets and a 20lb Parrot shell. On this day, he got a screaming signal and had to dig it. He found a model 1842 Smoothbore Musket 69 caliber in great condition! He says, “This musket would have been lost in a hasty retreat in one of the Battles here in Northern Virginia, as a soldier forded the creek and dropped it. It is an incredible feeling to find any relic last touched by a Civil War soldier, but it is especially amazing when it is a fully in fact musket. I was using my trusty AT Pro which is very durable, reliable in the rigors of water hunting, and has served me well for over 10 years. Thank you, Garrett.”
