This special CSI mode was designed to recover lead bullets and non-ferrous bullet casings (such as brass and copper), while eliminating common ferrous items from audible detection.

Harness the power of Garrett’s multi-frequency technology with Multi-Salt operation for smooth performance and accurate target ID during use in saltwater. Search wet beaches and surf areas with a detector built to overcome these challenging, mineralized conditions.
Identify crime scene targets with more precise Target ID, and at greater depths in soils with increased ground minerals. Garrett’s exclusive Multi-Dimensional Multi-Frequency (MD-MF) technology also analyzes targets and their surrounding soil matrix utilizing multiple dimensions of conductivity and ferrous content.
This advanced MD-MF analysis is shown on the LCD of the Vortex CSI with a multi-axis Target ID with two distinct scales. This two-tiered system includes a non-ferrous Target ID scale and a ferrous scale.
The upper scale primarily indicates non-ferrous items. Small, thin targets that are non-ferrous (e.g., lead bullets, foil, and small brass, such as a .22 casing) will indicate toward the left side of the scale. High conductivity items, such as larger brass and copper bullets, will indicate toward the right side of this scale. Complex targets, containing both ferrous and non-ferrous materials, may indicate simultaneously on both scales.
